Scorpio Full Moon
On interference, power dynamics, and what this Full Moon is asking you to see.
1st/2nd May
The light of the Sun and Moon represents energy, insight, data and information. During the Full Moon, from our perspective on Earth, the Moon is at peak illumination — which means that we on Earth are receiving the most light, data and information that we can through her reflection of the Sun.
Because of this dynamic between the Sun, Moon and Earth, the Full Moon is often spoken about as a portal for release. And while release may naturally follow, my perspective is that the Full Moon is first and foremost a portal for illumination. For seeing. We are offered insight, data and information that helps us understand ourselves more clearly — and navigate the next six months of this particular cycle with greater awareness.
This Full Moon marks the halfway point of a yearly lunar cycle and links directly back to the Scorpio New Moon in mid-November last year. That new moon was a beginning — a seed planted, an intention set, a cycle opened.
This Full Moon is the moment to pause and take stock of what has unfolded since then.
What have you learned? How have you grown? What has shifted in you, in your relationships, in the way you understand yourself? What new awareness are you carrying now that you did not have then?
This reflection matters — not as a looking back, but as an orientation forward. What you have learned in this first half of the cycle is the intelligence you take with you into the next six months.
Scorpio is a fixed water sign that rules the 8th house of the occult, death and rebirth, transformation, and shared resources. Represented as the archetype of the investigator, psychologist and death/birth doula, Scorpio is all about substance, depth, root cause analysis, personal power and empowerment.
Scorpio seeks to understand others and get to the bottom of things.
Transits through Scorpio often bring up things to do with power dynamics, power struggles, and navigating the process of reclaiming our power.
With the Full Moon occurring in Scorpio in Gate 44, we will see themes highlighted of transformation, personal power, and the hidden dynamics moving through our relationships, teams and families.
Gate 44 — the gate of interference — asks us to look honestly at where fear is shaping the way we move with others. Where we are controlling, submitting, resenting, or avoiding. And where we are ready to release that pattern and step into something more coherent.
Gate 44 — The Gate of Interference
At its shadow frequency, Gate 44 is the gate of interference. And interference, at its root, is what happens when fear — rather than truth — is running the relational field.
This plays out in two directions.
The first is the repressive pattern — the shrinking, the accommodating, the making yourself smaller to avoid conflict or maintain a fragile peace. The swallowing of what is true because the cost of saying it feels too high. This is the pattern that generates quiet resentment over time, a slow erosion of self that is rarely dramatic but is deeply corrosive.
The second is the reactive pattern — the controlling, the managing, the need to orchestrate outcomes and monitor every detail. The intensity that moves through a room before a word is spoken. This too is fear, expressed outward. The need to be at the top of the hierarchy, or to resist it entirely, both driven by the same underlying current.
What makes Gate 44 so profound — and so relevant in Scorpio season — is that these patterns do not begin in our relationships. They begin inside us. In our own perception. In the chemical signals our own nervous system is running, long before another person enters the room.
Scorpio knows this. Scorpio has always understood that the source of our power struggles is not out there. It is the unexamined territory within.
This is not comfortable to sit with. But it is exactly where the medicine is.
In order to transcend our shadows, we have to get intimate with them.
What This Full Moon Is Illuminating
This Full Moon in Gate 44 is bringing into light the places where interference has been quietly running — in your closest relationships, your team dynamics, your creative collaborations, your family patterns, and in the way you relate to structures of authority and hierarchy in your own life.
You may notice over these days a heightened awareness of power dynamics. Of where you have been giving your power away quietly, and where you have been gripping it tightly. Of the relationships that feel genuinely reciprocal, and the ones where resentment has been slowly building beneath the surface.
You may notice where you have been trying to manage an outcome rather than trust a process. Where you have been performing peace rather than inhabiting it. Where the need to control has been a response to something that feels unsafe — and where that safety, if you trace it far enough, was always going to have to come from within.
Scorpio does not ask you to fix these things immediately. It asks you to see them clearly. To go beneath the surface of the dynamic and find the fear that has been running it. Because what you can see, you can begin to move through. What remains unnamed stays in charge.
Pay attention this Full Moon to:
Where intensity or irritation is pointing you towards something unspoken
The relational dynamics that feel stuck, heavy, or resentful
Where you are waiting for someone else to change before you feel free
The difference between genuine discernment and fear dressed as wisdom
Where you are ready to stop interfering — with others, or with yourself
The Invitation — Moving Towards Synarchy
Gate 44, beyond its shadow, carries one of the most beautiful gifts in the Gene Keys — the gift of true teamwork. Not collaboration as performance. Not harmony maintained through suppression. But the kind of creative, living alignment that emerges when individuals stop trying to dominate or escape the dynamic and begin, instead, to trust it.
This is what Gate 44 calls synarchy — the recognition that we are all part of the same living system, and that system is more intelligent than our fear gives it credit for.
The Full Moon in Scorpio is not only asking you to see the interference. It is asking you to consider what becomes possible when you release it.
What does a relationship — or a team, or a family — look like when it is no longer governed by fear? When leadership is distributed not through control but through trust? When your uniqueness is not a threat to the dynamic but the very thing that makes it alive?
This is the vision Gate 44 is holding for you at this Full Moon. Not a utopia. A lived reality — available as soon as the interference is seen for what it is.
Working With This Full Moon
Rather than framing this Full Moon as a moment to release, I invite you to sit first with what it is showing you. To let the illumination land before reaching for any action. The seeing itself is the work.
With this Scorpio Full Moon in Gate 44, consider what is being made visible:
Where interference — repressive or reactive — has been quietly running in your relationships or dynamics
What the last six months have shown you about how you move with others, and where fear has been doing the navigating
The resentment, the control, the submission — not to judge it, but to finally name it clearly
Where you have grown since November, and what that growth is asking of you now
What you are ready to stop carrying forward into the next half of this cycle — not through force, but through the simple clarity of having seen it
From that place of genuine illumination, release — if it comes — will be natural. It will not need to be performed.
The Scorpio Full Moon asks:
Where am I ready to stop letting fear run my relational world?
Where is interference — whether repressive or reactive — keeping me from the dynamics I actually want?
What have I learned since November, and what is that awareness asking of me now?
What would it feel like to lead from trust rather than control?
